New branded apparel kicks off the exciting marketing momentum at Sno Biz. "These are fresh styles that reflect the fun attitude of Sno Biz," said Kris Novetzke at Sno Biz headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. "Kids are a big part of our market, whether they’re buyers or employees, and we wanted a more trendy look for the T-shirts."
The SnoBiz.com Web site features the full line of wearables. Sno Biz dealers and distributors can order by calling Kris directly at 1-800-742-8342 or by electronic message. Tom Novetzke added, "We see these T-shirts as wearable advertising for Sno Biz dealerships. You want people to remember Sno Biz. This is a fun, effective way to build brand awareness."
The new six-foot-tall Bizzy mascot costume is also part of the updates. This inflatable suit allows an adult to move fairly comfortably in the costume. At theme parks, festivals, fairs, and other events, the Bizzy costume attracts attentionand sales. "Bizzy is irresistible to kids," said Kris. "They just have to hug him! He can give parents coupons or directions to a Sno Biz dealership. You can make up your investment quickly."
In addition to the new wearables, Sno Biz has been working to update the photography and images dealers and distributors can download for their marketing materials. Check the Web site for new hi-resolution selections to use on menu boards, posters, and banners. Logos and other brand images are also available. Soon, the site will also offer jingles for radio commercials in both English and Spanish.
To support dealers, Sno Biz now offers the training video on VHS and DVD, too. "It’s a good refresher for existing dealers and their employees, and the training speeds up the learning curve for new dealers and new staff," said Tom. The training DVD is currently available by calling Tom or Kris to order.
Sno Biz expects to enhance the Web site for e-commerce in the near future, which will allow online ordering as well. "Spring is a great time to freshen things up," Tom said. "Dealers and distributors can use this time to take a look at their marketing. It’s like planting a seed now that grows into new business over the summer."

WEB WISE: PROMOTING THE SNO BIZ BRAND ONLINE
For the last few years, Sno Biz has been working to leverage the Internet’s promotional opportunities. Updates to the Web site (www.snobiz.com) optimized its content and structure to boost search-engine activity.
"We wanted to pop up in the top pages from keyword searches. It’s not easy to do, but we’ve been moving up," said Tom Novetzke. "We recently purchased ‘pay-per-click’ advertising on Google to capture more market share. We’re definitely seeing increased online activity."
Recent Web site analysis showed that in January 2006, 130 unique visitors opened at least one page of the site. In January 2007, the number had jumped to 2,428. Just as important, the number of pages the visitors see has also increased from an average of 3.56 pages per visit in January 2006 to 4.49 pages per visit in January 2007.
"The increase in activity indicates that we’re building brand awareness in the market," said Tom. "This is good for dealers, because more people will recognize the Sno Biz logo and connect the visual image with a delicious ice treatwhich means more sales for all dealers. Web activity is good for distributors, too, because more people are looking at Sno Biz dealerships around the world. We can keep the territories separated and still grow the brand."
